MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Optimization of orbital assignment and specification of service areas in satellite communications [PDF]

open access: yes
The mathematical nature of the orbital and frequency assignment problem for communications satellites is explored, and it is shown that choosing the correct permutations of the orbit locations and frequency assignments is an important step in arriving at

Multi-Channel Scheduling for Fast Convergecast in Wireless Sensor Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We explore the following fundamental question - how fast can information be collected from a wireless sensor network? We consider a number of design parameters such as, power control, time and frequency scheduling, and routing.

Circular‐Polarization‐Sensitive Organic Photodetectors with a Chiral Nanopatterned Electrode Inverse‐Designed by Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A chiral photodetector capable of selectively distinguishing left‐ and right‐handed circularly polarized light is experimentally demonstrated. The device, which features a nanopatterned electrode inverse‐designed by a genetic algorithm within a metal–dielectric–metal nanocavity that incorporates a vacuum‐deposited small‐molecule multilayer, exhibits ...

Surface Impedance Determination via Numerical Resolution of the Inverse Helmholtz Problem

open access: yes, 2017
Assigning boundary conditions, such as acoustic impedance, to the frequency domain thermoviscous wave equations (TWE), derived from the linearized Navier-Stokes equations (LNSE) poses a Helmholtz problem, solution to which yields a discrete set of ...

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

The role of service areas in the optimization of FSS orbital and frequency assignments [PDF]

open access: yes
A relationship is derived, on a single-entry interference basis, for the minimum allowable spacing between two satellites as a function of electrical parameters and service-area geometries.
