Subcarrier‐pair based joint resource allocation for secure cooperative OFDM system with multiple untrusted AF relays

open access: yesIET Communications, 2022
In this paper, a cooperative orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system with multiple untrusted amplify‐and‐forward relays is considered. Since there exists no direct link between source and user because of the shadowing effect, a positive system ...

Applicability of mitotic figure counting by deep learning: a development and pan‐cancer validation study

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, we developed a deep learning method for mitotic figure counting in H&E‐stained whole‐slide images and evaluated its prognostic impact in 13 external validation cohorts from seven different cancer types. Patients with more mitotic figures per mm2 had significantly worse patient outcome in all the studied cancer types except colorectal ...

Graph-theoretic approach to mobility-aware frequency assignment via deep Q-learning

open access: yesFrontiers in Communications and Networks
Due to the increasing demand for frequency resources in wireless networks, efficient frequency assignment has become a critical challenge. Unlike conventional cellular systems, where frequency allocation is centrally managed by a base station, device-to ...

Link Resource-Aware RMSA Algorithm for Advance Reservation Requests in Semi-Filterless Optical Networks

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
This paper investigates the routing, modulation, and spectrum assignment (RMSA) problem for advance reservation (AR) requests in semi-filterless optical networks (semi-FONs).

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

A Resource-Periodic-Arrangement Strategy for RMSA Problem in Elastic Optical Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Elastic optical networks (EONs), which can flexibly assign spectrum resources to connection requests, have become the most promising technology for the next generation of optical core networks.

Power Estimation in LTE systems with the General Framework of Standard Interference Mappings

open access: yes, 2014
We devise novel techniques to obtain the downlink power inducing a given load in long-term evolution (LTE) systems, where we define load as the fraction of resource blocks in the time-frequency grid being requested by users from a given base station ...

Optimization Algorithms for Large-Scale Real-World Instances of the Frequency Assignment Problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Nowadays, mobile communications are experiencing a strong growth, being more and more indispensable. One of the key issues in the design of mobile networks is the Frequency Assignment Problem (FAP).

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
