Control of Frequency Combs with Passive Resonators

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Tailored optical frequency combs are generated by nesting passive etalons within mode-locked oscillators. In this work, the oscillator generates a comb of 6.8 GHz with 106 MHz side-bands. This tailored comb results from the self-synchronized locking of two cavities with precision optical frequency tuning.

Network topology drives population temporal variability in experimental habitat networks

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
Habitat patches connected by dispersal pathways form habitat networks. We explored how network topology affects population outcomes in laboratory experiments using a model species (Daphnia carinata). Central habitat nodes in complex lattice networks exhibited lower temporal variability in population sizes, suggesting they support more stable ...

Frequency and Voltage Control of an Inverter-Based DG Using Adaptive Fuzzy-Sliding Mode Controller [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering Innovations, 2019
Background and Objectives: The microgrid voltage and frequency are strongly affected by active and reactive load fluctuations. Load change in microgrid may result in the lack of balance among generation and consumption and as a result change in output ...

Geographic variation in walking activity in the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study examined whether there is geographic variation in field populations, focusing on the moving activity in the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum. Results showed significant differences in moving activity among field populations but no correlation with latitude or meteorological factors.
