A ripple reduction method for a two stages battery charger with multi-winding transformer using notch filter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper presents a two-stage battery charger consisting of a bridgeless Totem-pole power factor correction (TP-PFC) circuit and a full bridge converter with a multi-winding transformer.

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Series/Parallel Boost/Buck DC/DC Converter as a Visible Light Communication HB-LED Driver Based on Split Power

open access: yesPhotonics
This paper presents a high-brightness LED (HB-LED) driver for visible light communication (VLC) based on two converters. The first is a high-frequency buck DC/DC converter and the second is a low-frequency boost DC/DC converter, connected in series with ...

Highly Enhanced Inductance Sensing Performance of Dual-Quartz Crystal Converter

open access: yesSensors, 2019
This paper presents ways of inductance sensitivity improvement in a quartz crystal converter for low inductance measurement. To improve the converter’s sensitivity, two quartz crystals that were connected in parallel and additional capacitance ...

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

A Control Method for Single-phase High-frequency Link Inverter

open access: yes机车电传动, 2017
In view of the condition that frequency converter switches of high-frequency link inverter SPWPM (sinusoidal pulse width and position modulation) working in high frequency had high losses, a new control method was studied.
