Double-Frequency Buck Converter
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2009Improving the efficiency and dynamics of power converters is a concerned tradeoff in power electronics. The increase of switching frequency can improve the dynamics of power converters, but the efficiency may be degraded. A double-frequency (DF) buck converter is proposed to address this concern. This converter is comprised of two buck cells: one works

Proceedings of IECON'94 - 20th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics, 2002
A comparison between PWM and quasiresonant power cells is made in steady state involving maxima values of components and switch power losses. In order to restrict the investigation area, only buck derived power cells have been selected (ZCS uni. and bidirectional, ZVS, ZVS-PWM and bidirectional PWM).

High frequency chaos converters
2010 IEEE Region 8 International Conference on Computational Technologies in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (SIBIRCON), 2010The aim of this paper is to prove an interesting feature of some simple second-order dynamical systems with an external AC force called chaos-based signal conversion. To do this, algebraically simplest case of mathematical model has been selected and corresponding spectrum of the Lja-punov exponents (LE) has been calculated.

This paper describes a new approach to the realization of a power frequency converter. The system is designed to accept either a three phase or single phase input with an unregulated frequency and to produce a single phase output with a precise 60 hz frequency.

Variable ratio frequency converter
Electrical Engineering, 1932Two synchronous-induction frequency converters with controllable frequency ratio and full automatic features were chosen to tie a 25-cycle and a 60-cycle system. Consideration of generation loads, load cycles, and stability of both systems led to the selection of this type of unit.

Self excitation of a frequency converter
Electrical Engineering, 1935After a general discussion of the phenomenon of self excitation of a-c machines, a specific case of 3 phase self excitation of a Scherbius machine is treated. Such a machine is used in the regulating set of a variable-ratio frequency converter for inherently constant power transfer, the operating features of which are described.

Photoparametric amplifier frequency converters
2008 10th Anniversary International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks, 2008This paper reviews the use of a photoparametric amplifier as a versatile yet elegant solution to the optical to electrical conversion stage found within optical communication systems. Basic operational principles are described along with application examples, in particular focusing on point-to-point free space links and indoor optical wireless ...

Microstructure-fiber frequency converters
Laser Physics Letters, 2004Microstructure fibers with multiple micron and submicron fused silica waveguide channels are shown to be ideally suited for highly efficient anti-Stokes frequency conversion. These fibers are capable of generating ultrashort pulses of frequency-tunable radiation with controlled chirp, allowing the creation of new sources of tunable radiation for ...

Frequency converter performance calculations
Electrical Engineering, 1948In its general construction the induction-type frequency converter is identical with a standard slip ring motor. Connecting its primary to a line of frequency f 1 sets up an air gap flux revolving at synchronous speed n s in respect to the primary winding, inducing in the secondary a voltage of a frequency f 2 in direct proportion to the difference ...
