Frequency and Characteristics of Facial Asymmetry in Patients With Deviated Noses

JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, 2015
Facial asymmetry is frequently detected in patients who are seeking rhinoplasty for a deviated nose, and its presence often leads to failure to create a straight-looking nose.To analyze the frequency and characteristics of facial asymmetry in patients with a deviated nose and to identify representative parameters to describe types and severity of ...

Minimum deviation of spatial frequency in large-particle sizing

Applied Optics, 1998
A new method is introduced to improve the accuracy of sizing large particles in two-phase flows. This method uses a photodetector array to measure directly the spatial frequency of the light intensity scattered from a spherical particle in the measurement volume (or cross-sectional area).

Instantaneous frequency and its instantaneous deviation

Journal of Modern Optics, 2004
Using statistical language, the instantaneous frequency of a deterministic signal, such as an electromagnetic pulse collected at a point in space, is a location function and its deviation is a shape function. The former is better defined than the latter, which can be computed an infinity of different ways, some of which can exhibit pathologies.

Measurement of frequency deviations in FM oscillations by means of a frequency meter

Measurement Techniques, 1961
It follows from the theoretical and experimental investigations that the error of measurement by the above method for a zero intermediate frequency and a sinusoidal modulation is equal to $$\frac{\pi }{{2(\Delta f/F)}}.$$ 100%, i.e., it drops with a rising ...

Deviations from expected frequencies in the theory of inbreeding

Journal of Genetics, 1937
Deviations from expected frequencies for the numbers of heterozygotes in inbreeding problems are considered, and in particular exact formulae for the variance in the case of self-fertilization are obtained under certain conditions. These results illustrate how the deviations from the expected numbers depend on theabsolute rate of change of the ...
