Frequency-domain Adaptive Filtering: from Real to Hypercomplex Signal Processing

ICASSP 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2019
Frequency-domain adaptive filters (FDAFs) have been widely used over the years, but they are still matter of research due to their powerful capabilities that differentiate them from the whole family of time-domain adaptive filters. This paper aims at providing an overview on FDAFs through a unifying framework that can be used for the derivation of the ...

A general framework for frequency domain multi-channel signal processing

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 1993
The authors provide a general framework for performing processing of stationary multichannel (MC) signals that is linear shift-invariant within channel and shift varying across channels. Emphasis is given to the restoration of degraded signals. It is shown that, by utilizing the special structure of semiblock circulant and block diagonal matrices, MC ...

Point scatterers target identification using frequency domain signal processing

2008 International Radar Symposium, 2008
The coherent short pulse radar provides high resolution image of the target. A model of this image is composed in the superposition form by complex envelope of signals returned from point-scatterers. In accordance with their positions and reflection coefficients the values of complex envelope are distributed over radar image coordinate plane.

Real-time musical applications using frequency domain signal processing

Proceedings of 1995 Workshop on Applications of Signal Processing to Audio and Accoustics, 2002
This paper presents real-time musical applications using the IRCAM signal processing workstation which make use of FFT/IFFT-based resynthesis for timbral transformation in a musical context. An intuitive and straightforward user interface, intended for use by musicians, has been developed by the authors in the Max programming environment.

Frequency domain processing of ultra-wideband signals

The Thrity-Seventh Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems & Computers, 2003, 2004
The central challenge of ultra-wideband (UWB) radio is to overcome its intrinsic complexity. This paper argues for the use of high-speed sampling and a front-end FFT as the paradigm of choice for robust performance and low energy consumption in certain ultra-wideband designs.

Mobile teletext reception using signal processing in frequency domain

IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 1989, and Exhibition. 'Communications Technology for the 1990s and Beyond, 2003
An experimental study of mobile teletext reception is described. Teletext in Japan is a broadband signal with 5.73 Mb/s; therefore, multipath interference is a serious problem in mobile reception, and it is impossible to obtain the teletext correctly by conventional methods.

EMG Signal Processing in Frequency Domain

2018 International Conference BIOMDLORE, 2018
The EMG signal analysis is a useful in assessment of muscle spasticity in spastic diplegia CP children. The aim of this study was to propose methods for EMG signal processing in frequency domain. Functional evaluation was carried out on 10 spastic diplegia patients aged between 7–12 years old.

Optical Signal Processing in the Discrete Nonlinear Frequency Domain

Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2018
We investigate the possibility of optical signal processing (OSP) for the nonlinear discrete spectrum. OSP is used to generate and separate a fifth-order soliton optically by a novel transmitter and receiver setup with highly-nonlinear fiber.

Frequency domain processing of scanning acoustic imaging signals

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2005
Method and apparatus useful in the inspection of a target comprises scanning the target with a pulsed acoustic beam, sensing the pulsed beam after it has been modified by interaction with the target, producing a time-domain signal indicative of the modifications, processing the time-domain signal to produce a frequency domain representation of the ...

Two algorithms of signal processing in frequency domain

Journal of Communications Technology and Electronics, 2015
Nonrecursive algorithms for processing of nonstationary signals in frequency domain and devices implementing these algorithms are proposed. It is shown that the computational complexity of the proposed algorithms is O(N).
