Linear independence of time-frequency shifts? [PDF]
We investigate finite sections of Gabor frames and study the asymptotic behavior of their lower Riesz bound. From a numerical point of view, these sets of time-frequency shifts are linearly dependent, whereas from a rigorous analytic point of view, they are conjectured to be linearly independent.

An Octave Bandwidth Frequency Independent Dipole Antenna [PDF]
Precision measurements of the spectrum of the cosmic radio background require frequency independent antennas of small electrical dimensions. We describe the design of a wide-band fat-dipole antenna with a sinusoidal profile having a frequency independent performance over the octave band 87.5 to 175 MHz.

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.

ABSTRACT Purpose Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common pediatric ocular cancer, yet population‐based data on survival and risk factors remain limited. This study aimed to describe survival in a large national RB cohort and identify predictors of death and complications.

The effect of age of acquisition: Partly frequency related, partly frequency independent [PDF]
A review of multitask investigations on the locus of the age-of-acquisition (AoA) effect in the English, Dutch, and French languages reveals two main findings. First, for most tasks there is near perfect correlation between the magnitude of the AoA effect and the magnitude of the frequency effect, even though the stimuli were selected so that both ...

ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate selumetinib exposure using therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in pediatric patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and plexiform neurofibromas (PN), assess interpatient pharmacokinetic variability, and explore the relationship between drug exposure, clinical response, and adverse effects.

Comparative Enumeration Gene Expression [PDF]
This paper is about differential gene expression measured by transcript counting methods such as SAGE or MPSS. It introduces two significance tests for detection of differential expressed tags: frequentist and Bayesian. Under the frequentist view, it is

ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

The Educational Problems of Clinical Field Training Based on Nursing Teachers and Last Year Nursing Students View points [PDF]
Introduction. Different problems could lead to reducing the efficiency of field training for nursing students. Identifying and solving these problems is necessary to reinforce some effective educational methods. The aim of this study was to determine the
