Construction of optical system for an atomic clock-beyond atomic fountain

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
We demonstrate the construction of the optical system in the atomic clock-beyond atomic fountain based on 87Rb atom. The optical system includes a high-stability laser system and an optical lattice.

Design of a Miniaturized Low Noise 10 MHz Crystal Oscillator for Rubidium Atomic Frequency Standard

open access: yesChinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2022
A miniaturized low noise quartz crystal oscillator for rubidium atomic frequency standard (RAFS) was designed in this paper, with the oscillation circuit applying Colpitts parallel configuration and SC-cut crystal resonator.

A Cavity-cell Assembly of Rubidium Frequency Standard Based on a Non-standard Rectangular Microwave Cavity

open access: yesChinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2021
To meet the requirement of ultra-thin rubidium frequency standard, we developed a non-standard rectangular cavity based on the slotted-tube microwave cavity with 12 mm thickness and a field orientation factor of about 0.9.

A Physics Package with Shot-noise Limited Frequency Stability Better Than 1×10-13τ-1/2 for Rubidium Atomic Frequency Standards

open access: yesChinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2022
The performance of the rubidium (Rb) atomic frequency standard has achieved significant improvement in recent years. Its frequency stability has already reached the order of 10-13τ-1/2. To further improve Rb frequency standard's stability performance, we

Analysis of vibration and acoustic signals for noncontact measurement of engine rotation speed [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The non-contact measurement of engine speed can be realized by analyzing engine vibration frequency. However, the vibration signal is distorted by harmonics and noise in the measurement.

Investigation of an Ultra High Signal-to-noise Ratio Physics Package for the Rubidium Atomic Clock

open access: yesChinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2023
Driven by the demand for satellite navigation and deep space exploration, the performance of lamp-pumped rubidium atomic clock has been greatly improved, and its short-term frequency stability has reached the level of a small coefficient of 10-13τ -1/2 ...

Flat-Plate PHP with Gravity-Independent Performance and High Maximum Thermal Load

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
In many energy-related applications, components with high heat loads, such as power electronics, play an important role. Pulsating heat pipes (PHPs) are an effective solution to deal with the increasing heat load of these components.

Multimode Optical Interconnects on Silicon Interposer Enable Confidential Hardware-to-Hardware Communication

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Following Moore’s law, the density of integrated circuits is increasing in all dimensions, for instance, in 3D stacked chip networks. Amongst other electro-optic solutions, multimode optical interconnects on a silicon interposer promise to enable high ...

Measuring low frequency tilts

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, 1993
A borehole tiltmeter with a sensitivity of a few nanoradians is described. It is composed of two orthogonal horizontal pendulums with free periods of 1 s. The pendulums are insensitive to barometric pressure fluctuations, and the measured temperature coefficient is less than 30 nrad/°C.

Hybrid InP and SiN integration of an octave-spanning frequency comb

open access: yesAPL Photonics, 2021
Implementing optical-frequency combs with integrated photonics will enable wider use of precision timing signals. Here, we explore the generation of an octave-span, Kerr-microresonator frequency comb using hybrid integration of an InP distributed ...
