Target Detection in Joint Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Radar-Communication System

2019 16th International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems (ISWCS), 2019
Motivated by the need of combining hardware, energy and spectrum resources of various components towards developing autonomous vehicular systems, we propose a joint FMCW radar and communication (RadCom) system. The proposed waveform consists of frequency-modulated chirps, used for both radar and communications.

Utilizing GaalAs Laser Diodes As A Source For Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Coherent Laser Radars

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
This paper describes the development of a Coherent Laser Radar utilizing a Frequency Modulated (FM) GaAlAs laser diode as an optical source. Both metrology (low speed, high accuracy) and vision (high speed, low accuracy) systems have been developed.

A broadband low-cost antenna array for frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radars operating at 24 GHz

2012 Fourth International Conference on Communications and Electronics (ICCE), 2012
The paper presents the design of a broadband microstrip antenna array operating within 24 GHz frequency range. The designed antenna array is destined for application in FMCW radar modules, in which 2 GHz frequency deviation has been assumed. The antenna has been designed as a 4 × 4 array to achieve appropriate gain.

Design of the Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Waveforms, Simulation of the Real Road Scenario and Signal Processing for the Automotive Adaptive Cruise Control

2021 IEEE International Conference on Power Electronics, Computer Applications (ICPECA), 2021
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system has aroused much concern nowadays to increase the ability of road scenario indication and enhance the safety of self-driving application. FMCW radar-based technology is the main technique used in ACC system for target detection due to its high resolution and accuracy.

Short-Range Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Radar Using Universal Software-Defined Radio Peripheral (USRP)

2017
In this paper, we design a prototype FMCW (Frequency Modulated-Continuous Wave) radar for short distance using universal software defined radio peripheral (USRP). USRP is an ideal platform for all type of telecommunication research, until the bandwidth requirement is fulfilled by universal serial bus (USB).

Simulation of a Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave (FMCW) Radar Using Fast Fourier Transforms (FFT)

2019
Frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar systems send known frequency signals to moving targets and receive the signal back to detectors. FMCW systems can be used to measure exact heights of landing aircrafts. In addition, they are used in early warning radar systems and in proximity sensors.

Frequency linearization of voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) for 2 µs frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) reflectometer

Review of Scientific Instruments
Frequency modulated continuous wave reflectometers have been widely used to measure plasma density profiles in many magnetic fusion devices. The frequency modulation (FM) time of the KSTAR reflectometer was 20 µs, that is, the FM rate was 50 kHz. However, the edge density of the KSTAR tokamak fluctuates typically over the frequency range of 20–50 kHz ...
