A Linear Active Rampart Antenna Array With Two‐Dimensional Beam‐Scanning Capability for FMCW Radar Applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
A novel linear active rampart array that is able to steer in the azimuth plane through frequency sweeping and in the elevation plane through phase shifting has been developed. The presented system uses eight active elements and two parasitic ones to ensure consistent radiation patterns.

Comparative Evaluation of Hybrid Deep Learning Models for mmWave Radar‐Based Multihand Gesture Recognition

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
According to data from the World Federation of the Hearing Impaired and the World Health Organization, in the world, there are about 72 million people who suffer from hearing impairment, and the total population of hearing‐impaired people is 360 million, out of which 32 million are children. This group of individuals uses hand gestures as the main form

Techniques for homodyne dechirp-on-receive linearly frequency modulated radar

open access: yes, 2011
This thesis presents work done to extend and improve the operation of homodyne dechirp-on-receive linearly frequency modulated radars. First, an investigation of the effect of common phase errors on the point response function of the radar is ...

What's Next for Snow: Insights From the NASA Terrestrial Hydrology Program Community Snow Meeting

open access: yesEarth's Future, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Earth's snow cover strongly influences the climate system and represents an important resource for agricultural, industrial, and domestic water use. The last decade of snow‐focused research has improved our understanding of snow across scales. These efforts have culminated in new snow measurement instruments and methods, operational models for

Hybrid LiDAR–radar at 9 μm wavelength with unipolar quantum optoelectronic devices

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 14, Issue 21, Page 3407-3413, 02 October 2025.
Abstract Unipolar quantum optoelectronics is emerging as a promising semiconductor platform for developing mid‐infrared applications, particularly spectroscopy and free‐space communications. In this work, we present a proof of principle of a unipolar quantum optoelectronic hybrid Lidar – Radar for the measurement of the position and speed of a moving ...

A New Demodulation and Modulation Method Designed for FMCW Radar

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2010
An efficient demodulation method designed for FMCW (Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave) radar is presented. It is a kind of modified DFT (IDFT) algorithm; the spectrum segment of interest can be easily extracted from the original signal without ...
