Frequency multiplier chains

1984
At frequencies up to the order of 120-150 MHz, it is possible to use a quartz crystal as resonator and thus achieve simultaneously a high Q and good frequency stability and accuracy. At still higher frequencies the phase noise performance of a simple oscillator will be degraded both due to the higher value of f0 and simultaneously the lower Q of a ...

A 45GHz SiGe active frequency multiplier

2002 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference. Digest of Technical Papers (Cat. No.02CH37315), 2003
A frequency quadrupler for frequencies up to 45 GHz uses a pre-production 0.4 /spl mu/m SiGe bipolar technology. Gain is achieved at -15 dBm input power between 24 and 45 GHz with maximum of 7.3 dB at 44 GHz. The circuit draws 84 mA from a single 5 V supply.

Frequency Multipliers—An Overview and A 10.5 GHz Frequency Multiplier on TFG Substrate

IETE Technical Review, 1992
Most microwave engineers picture a coaxial cavity as a bulky construction, difficult to design at microwave frequencies. This paper demonstrates that multipliers at microwave frequencies can be designed by using microstripline techniques with normally used Teflon Fibre Glass substrates.

Phase-Locked Frequency Multiplier

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1967
A technique for locking the output phase of a frequency multiplier to its input is described. A sampling system is utilized in which a narrow phase-stable pulse, generated at a zero crossing of the input signal, is used to sample the frequency multiplier output.

A new FET frequency multiplier

1998 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest (Cat. No.98CH36192), 2002
A new FET frequency multiplier is presented. The FET multiplier works in a similar way as a resistive mixer. The FET can be operated either as a series or a parallel switch. The multiplier has essentially no DC power dissipation and its stability properties are good, since the drain-to-source bias-voltage is zero.

High-Power Frequency Multiplied Sources

2018 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and RF Conference (IMaRC), 2018
This paper describes the recent results obtained from high-power frequency multiplied sources typically using integrated GaAs Schottky diode circuits. The results show that a single GaAs circuit can safely handle 500 mW input power, while generating more than 150 mW in a power-combined configuration for a doubler and about 25 mW for a tripler.

A low-frequency multiplier

Measurement Techniques, 1994
A low-frequency multiplier is described whose operation is based on filling the period of the multiplied frequency with a constant number of pulses maintained by a frequency-controlled generator.

Millimeter Waves Multibeam Frequency Multiplier

2006 16th International Crimean Microwave and Telecommunication Technology, 2006
The research of multidimensional model of two-stage frequency multiplier with multibeam election-optical system is carried out. The presence of multiple-speed electronic stream allows effectively controlling the characteristics of interaction between high-frequency field and charged particles.

High-frequency sequential decimal multipliers

2012 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2012
Multiplication, as one of the four basic operations embedded in arithmetic processors, is nowadays experiencing being spotlighted by the hardware designers involved in the revived decimal arithmetic. The decimal hardware units usually employ the sequential implementation for this operation, due to the high area cost of the parallel decimal multipliers.

A cyclotron resonance frequency multiplier

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1963
The current density available from known thermionic cathodes imposes a serious limitation on the power output obtainable from electron tubes operating at frequencies above about 10 Gc. This paper describes a proposal for a frequency multiplier which has the interesting property that the RF energy imparted to the electron beam by the signal source may ...
