Variations in downslope activity and bottom current dynamics in a land‐detached submarine channel system since the Last Glacial Maximum

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Gollum Channel System is a land‐detached large‐scale canyon‐channel system situated offshore southwest Ireland on the Northeast Atlantic margin. The system has been considered inactive with downslope gravity flows since the last glacial period, but geophysical data in some of its branches do suggest Holocene activity.

Donor–Recipient Epstein–Barr Virus Serostatus and Time‐Varying Risk of Posttransplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder in Kidney Transplant Recipients

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, EarlyView.
In a national US kidney transplant cohort, posttransplant lymphoproliferative disorder risk varied dynamically by donor–recipient Epstein–Barr virus serostatus. Donor‐positive/recipient‐negative recipients had the highest sustained risk, while donor‐negative/recipient‐negative recipients faced previously under‐recognized early risk, with PTLD strongly ...

The effect of perioperative erythropoietin‐stimulating agents and intravenous iron on patient outcomes following solid organ transplantation: A systematic review

open access: yesTransfusion Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Solid organ transplant is associated with high rates of anaemia and transfusion, but there is little comparative data on interventions such as erythropoietin‐stimulating agents (ESAs) and intravenous (IV) iron. We conducted a systematic review examining the association of ESAs and IV iron with outcomes in adults undergoing solid organ ...

First‐time red blood cell transfusions in the emergency department: A deficiency in micronutrient testing

open access: yesTransfusion Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives To evaluate laboratory investigations for micronutrient deficiencies as the cause of anaemia prior to first‐time red blood cell transfusions in the medical emergency department (ED) of a large academic hospital. Background The ED is often the first point of contact for acutely ill anaemic patients, yet patient blood management ...

Prognostic Value of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Defined Extent of Surgical Resection in Dogs With Intracranial Meningiomas

open access: yesVeterinary and Comparative Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surgery is a common treatment for intracranial meningiomas in dogs, although the prognostic impact of the extent of resection (EOR) has not been systematically evaluated. This retrospective study identified prognostic factors associated with clinical outcomes in dogs that underwent surgery and early post‐operative magnetic resonance imaging ...
