Frequency Response Analysis

2020
This chapter will introduce the concept of frequency response analysis. We will examine how analog circuits do not behave in the same manner for all frequencies. We will examine how performing Laplace Transform on time domain equations results in frequency domain equations that allow us to study the frequency dependent behaviour of analog circuits.

Time–Frequency Analysis of the Impulse Response

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2019
The impulse response is a key function for the analysis and design of systems, therefore understanding its properties is a fundamental problem. To investigate the nonstationary structure of the impulse response, we derive its time–frequency representation both in the Wigner and smoothed Wigner distribution domains.

Design sensitivity analysis of structural frequency response

4th Symposium on Multidisciplinary Analysis and Optimization, 1992
This note provides an improved method to the modal superposition method for calculating frequency response sensitivities. It combines the mode- acceleration method with the Ritz minimization technique to improve the modal approximation accuracy. In addition, an iteration scheme is used to further enhance the result.

Frequency response analysis of the diaphragm in vivo

Journal of Applied Physiology, 1976
Frequency response analysis was used to determine the dynamic response characteristics of cat diaphragm under isovolumetric conditions at functional residual capacity (FRC) and at lung volumes above and below FRC. In apneic cats, sinusoidally modulated pulse rate patterns were applied to both phrenic nerves.

High frequency power transformer modelling for frequency response analysis studies

2016 International Conference on Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis (CMD), 2016
Frequency response analysis (FRA) has been widely utilized to detect winding and core deformations within power transformers. While the measurement technique has been well-developed and standardized, the interpretation of the FRA signature is still a challenging area that calls for more research, in order to establish standard and widely-accepted ...

Frequency Response Analysis of Power Transformers

2021
Research has indicated that with increasing penetration of non-renewable energy sources, more and more high-frequency (HF) transformers are needed at the distribution level. Various new topologies have been proposed for this, one of them being solid-state transformers. HF transformers have also been proposed to be useful in micro-grids.

Instrument transformer winding fault analysis using frequency response analysis

2012 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Communication Control and Computing Technologies (ICACCCT), 2012
Improvement of diagnostic methods for both power and Instrument transformer is crucial considering the part they play in electrical networks as well as their cost. Frequency response analysis based testing of transformers is one of the methods that have been introduced recently.

Frequency Response Analysis of Polymer Melt Spinning

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1994
The dynamics of a viscoelastic polymer melt spinline are analyzed by solving the linearized perturbation equations in the frequency domain using a realistic constitutive equation for the melt rheology. The computed frequency response is in reasonably good agreement with experiments on the spinning of poly(ethylene terephthalate), but the agreement is ...

Analysis of frequency response across switching

2012
This chapter deals with systems with switching which occurs only once. For those systems, a method to analyze the gain from the sinusoidal input injected before switching to the output produced after switching is proposed. The obtained gain information will help us to design the frequency weighting functions used in synthesis of compensators to ...

Nonlinear frequency response analysis using MSC Nastran

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering
AbstractFrequency response analysis often provides a great deal of information about the system response over the entire range of operation. This can be computationally expensive if time‐domain methods are used, especially for large structural models.
