The estimation of the frequency response function of a mechanoreceptor

Biological Cybernetics, 1972
Widespread use has been made of linear systems theory to describe the input-output relations of receptors. The frequency response function of an insect mechanoreceptor, the tactile spine of the cockroach, has been estimated by using deterministic inputs (sines and step functions), deterministic inputs added to a stochastic, auxiliary signal (band ...

Leakage Reduction in Frequency-Response Function Measurements

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2006
This paper analyses how to reduce leakage errors in frequency response function measurements (FRF). First the nature of leakage errors is revealed, next windowing methods are analyzed, and a new default window is proposed.

On the statistical estimation of frequency response function

Annals of the Institute of Statistical Mathematics, 1962
At present, the spectral method is used very commonly for the analysis.of an electrical or mechanical system. The spectral method is used not only for the estimation of the individual spectral density functions of the input and output of the system but also for the estimation of the frequency characteristics of the system.

Frequency Response Functions for Nonlinear Convergent Systems

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2007
Convergent systems constitute a practically important class of nonlinear systems that extends the class of asymptotically stable linear time-invariant systems. In this note, we extend frequency response functions defined for linear systems to nonlinear convergent systems.

Prediction and reduction in vehicle noise by frequency response function–based substructuring

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2016
The purpose of this study was to use a hybrid frequency response function–based substructuring synthesis method to predict the structure-borne noise of a vehicle frame resulting due to excitation by the engine and to develop a noise reduction method for ...

Frequency Response Functions of a Lorry

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
There are characteristics which uniquely determine the dynamic individuality of every dynamical system. The frequency response functions can by considered as such characteristics. They are employed usually within the solution in frequency domain. These characteristics can be obtained by the numerical or experimental way.

Identifying a Transfer Function From a Frequency Response

Volume 5: 6th International Conference on Multibody Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Control, Parts A, B, and C, 2007
In this paper, the classic Levy identification method is reviewed and reformulated using a complex representation. This new formulation is able to solve the well known bias of the classic method at low frequencies. The formulation is generic, addressing both integer order and fractional order transfer functions.
