Approximation of frequency responses based on Larsson's method
Structural Optimization, 1994This paper discusses the new aspects of the formulation for structural model updates presented by Larsson and Sas at the 10th International Modal Analysis Conference held in San Diego, California in February 1991. First, a closed-form representation of the reduced impedance matrix is presented.

The application of the frequency-response method to electrical machines
Proceedings of the IEE Part C: Monographs, 1956The frequency-response method is well established in the analysis of control systems and networks, but has hitherto not been extensively used for analysing rotating machines. The method is of particular value When the magnetic circuit of the machine contains unlaminated iron in which eddy currents are set up when the flux changes. The paper describes a

A simple method for swept frequency response testing
Radio and Electronic Engineer, 1979This paper deals with the design of simple, and relatively inexpensive, dedicated equipment which is tailored to test a 6th-order analogue pitch rate compensation unit using sweep frequencies and return signal processing to estimate gain and phase characteristics. It is shown that the test time required for an optimum swept frequency test compares very

Characterization of microporous sorbents by frequency-response methods
Gas Separation & Purification, 1993The principal features of the frequency-response (FR) apparatus developed at Imperial College are described. The apparatus has been used in both its (a) full and (b) single-step frequency modes to determine the diffusivities of various hydrocarbons in zeolites.

Improved MATLAB GUIs for Learning Frequency Response Methods
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2013The author developed two GUIs for asymptotic Bode plots and identification from such plots aimed at improving the learning of frequency response methods: these were presented at UKACC Control 2012. Student feedback and reflection by the author suggested various improvements to these GUIs, which have now been implemented.

An approximate method for obtaining transient response from frequency response
Proceedings of the IEE - Part B: Radio and Electronic Engineering, 1955A number of approximate methods are known for obtaining the transient response of a linear system from its frequency response when the latter is known numerically but not as an analytical function. The paper presents a new method for performing this transformation which is believed to be considerably quicker and more convenient than previous methods ...

Zeolitic diffusivities of hydrocarbons by the frequency response method
Journal of Catalysis, 1985Abstract In order to prove the efficiency of the new frequency response method by actual data, it is applied to propane and ethane over Linde 5A systems, in which considerable discrepancies remain unresolved between the diffusivities determined by the sorption and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) methods.

An Optical Method of obtaining the Frequency Response of a Lens
Nature, 1958THE image-forming properties of many types of lens have been measured in this laboratory, with particular reference to their suitability for use in television equipment such as cameras, film scanners, telerecorders, etc. The spatial frequency response of a lens is one of the most important characteristics to be determined; and the basic photoelectric ...

A Method for Deriving Frequency Response from Transient Response Data
1960Abstract : The characteristics of a linear component are known to be completely determined by its steady state frequency response which relates the output of the component to its input. Hence, the analysis and synthesis of a complex system are simplified when the frequency response of each unit making up the system is known.
