Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Performance analysis of global local mean square error criterion of stochastic linearization for nonlinear oscillator

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 2019
The paper presents a performance analysis of global-local mean square error criterion of stochastic linearization for some nonlinear oscillators. This criterion of stochastic linearization for nonlinear oscillators bases on dual conception to the local ...

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Method for filtering proportional valve-frequency-response test data containing impulsive noise

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2019
Impulsive noise, generated by inverters and other equipment used in the field, tends to easily enter test channels in scenarios where continuous frequency conversion signals are employed to test the frequency response of electrohydraulic proportional ...

ANALYSIS OF RUNOFF BY FREQUENCY RESPONSE METHOD

open access: yesDoboku Gakkai Ronbunshu, 1988
The existence of dead time and delay time is recognized in one-component input-output system response. These two effects should not be regarded as identical. Various reports have been given on delay time over a long time as an important concept to explain the mechanism of rainfall-runoff process, that is, concentration time of flood.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Extraction of winding parameters for 33/11 kV, 30 MVA transformer based on finite element method for frequency response modelling.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
This paper proposes an alternative approach to extract transformer's winding parameters of resistance (R), inductance (L), capacitance (C) and conductance (G) based on Finite Element Method (FEM).

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.
