A new class of frequency selective surfaces

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium 1992 Digest, 1992
A structure comprising a perforated screen with double connected apertures is studied using an efficient two-step procedure. The radiation of the array of patches is evaluated by a Green's function relative to the perforated screen with simply connected aperture A', embedded in a stratified dielectric support (the reference structure).

Conformal frequency selective surfaces design

2016 24th Signal Processing and Communication Application Conference (SIU), 2016
In this study a conformal frequency selective surface has been proposed for 5.8GHz frequency band and compared with a planer array frequency selective surface in the same sizes. A satisfactory performance has been obtained and a negligible difference has been obtained in terms of frequency and bandwidth when compared to the planer one.

Analysis of Curved Frequency Selective Surfaces

2nd European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2007), 2007
This article presents the full-wave analysis of frequency selective surfaces (FSS) embedded in a multilayer spherical supporting structure. The FSS are composed of circular ring elements because of its good polarisation properties and insensitivity of the resonant frequency on the angle of the incident plane wave.

Nanophotonic Frequency Selective Surfaces

Frontiers in Optics, 2005
The near-infrared properties of metallic films perforated with periodic arrays of annular apertures are considered computationally and experimentally. The transmission spectrum is investigated theoretically in the context of the near-zone electric and magnetic fields.

Broadband Frequency Selective Surface

MILCOM 1986 - IEEE Military Communications Conference: Communications-Computers: Teamed for the 90's, 1986
Future communication satellites will use dichroic subreflectors to produce multiple focal regions from a single parabolic reflector. This additional focal region will allow for beams operating over different frequency bands to be produced by a single reflector and avoid the feed crowding or mechanical limitations current reflector antennas encounter ...

Plasma Frequency Selective Surfaces

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2007
This paper is focused on using plasma as a substitute for metal in a frequency selective surface ("FSS"). FSSs have been used for filtering electromagnetic waves. Each FSS layer has to be modeled using numerical methods, and the layers are stacked in such a way to create the desired filtering.

Complementary frequency selective surfaces

IEE Proceedings - Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 2000
A concept in frequency selective surface (FSS) technology that stems from Babinet's principle, whereby a hybrid of two closely coupled FSS, a layer of conducting elements and a layer of aperture elements are etched either side of a dielectric substrate, acronymed as complementary FSS (CFSS) is introduced.

On finite frequency selective surfaces

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. Digest. Held in conjunction with: USNC/CNC/URSI North American Radio Sci. Meeting (Cat. No.03CH37450), 2004
It is customary to approximate finite periodic structures by considering infinite surfaces. While this approach works under many circumstances, there are cases where strong surface waves are excited that cannot be accounted for by the infinite array approach An explanation of this phenomenon is shown.

Limiting frequency selective surfaces

2009 European Microwave Conference (EuMC), 2009
Abstract In this paper the concept of limiting Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) is presented. The design of a reconfigurable FSS equipped with PIN diodes, aimed at the protection of a radar receiver from high power impinging electromagnetic waves is outlined and verified against the measurement results of a hardware demonstrator.

Plasma frequency selective surfaces

The 30th International Conference on Plasma Science, 2003. ICOPS 2003. IEEE Conference Record - Abstracts., 2003
Summary form only given, as follows. Summary form only given. This research is focused on using plasma as a substitute for metal in a frequency selective surface (FSS). Frequency selective surfaces have been used for filtering electromagnetic waves. Our plasma frequency selective surfaces can be tuned to a desired filtering by varying the density or ...
