Design and optimization of Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS) [PDF]
The analysis method for Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS), the spectral-domain Method of Moments (MoM) is improved to be applicable to normal incidence. A more efficient optimization algorithm, Differential Evolution Strategy (DES) is proposed to optimize the standard, non-irregular FSS unit-cell and dielectric properties.

Absorptive/Transmissive Frequency Selective Surface With Wide Absorption Band
An absorptive/transmissive frequency selective surface (ATFSS) with absorption bands at both sides of a passband is presented. Equivalent circuits of the ATFSS that consists of a lossy frequency selective surface (FSS) and a lossless FSS were modeled. To

Influence of Flexible and Textile Substrates on Frequency-Selective Surfaces (FSS)
Frequency-selective surfaces (FSS) are two-dimensional geometric structures made of conductive materials that selectively transmit or reflect electromagnetic waves. In this paper, flexible FSS made on textile and film substrates is presented and compared to show the effect of the texture associated with the type of substrate on the shielding properties.

Active Frequency Selective Surface With Wide Reconfigurable Passband
This paper presents an active frequency selective surface (AFSS) with a wide reconfigurable passband. The tuning mechanism was investigated with an equivalent circuit which consists of a parallel L-C resonant circuit and a series L-C resonant circuit.

Two-Dimensional Analogies to Frequency-Selective Surfaces (FSS) on the Graphene Sheet [PDF]
In this paper, we propose that two-dimensional analogies to frequency-selective surfaces (FSS) can be achieved on graphene surfaces based on transformation optics. The analogies to representative FSS structures, including the anti-reflecting coating (ARC) and the high-reflecting coating (Bragg reflector), have been investigated through both analytical ...

Muscle Control of an Extra Robotic Digit
This study compares muscle‐ and movement‐based control for operating a supernumerary robotic thumb. While movement control performs better in the proposed tasks, muscle‐based (EMG) control promotes broader motor learning. The results highlight the promise and challenges of using biosignals for human augmentation, offering new insights into intuitive ...

A sequential deep learning framework is developed to model surface roughness progression in multi‐stage microneedle fabrication. Using real‐world experimental data from 3D printing, molding, and casting stages, an long short‐term memory‐based recurrent neural network captures the cumulative influence of geometric parameters and intermediate outputs ...
