SWITCHABLE SPLIT-RING FREQUENCY SELECTIVE SURFACES [PDF]
Tunable frequency selective surfaces (FSSs) based on split ring resonators (SRRs) are presented. Tuning performance is achieved by means of several on/off switches placed between the rings of each SRR element. The band-stop FSS response is dynamically tuned to different frequency bands at different switching states.

Development of a Novel Gear-like Disk Resonator Applied in Gyroscope
This paper proposes a novel gear-like disk resonator (GDR). The design, fabrication, and characterization of GDR are presented. In comparison with a ring-like disk resonator (RDR), a GDR replaces the circular rings with meander-shaped rings consisting of

On the Characterization of Frequency-Persistent Scatterers in Split-Band Interferometry [PDF]
Split-Band Interferometry (SBInSAR) requires the presence of reliable frequency-persistent scatterers within the studied scene. However, the physical nature of such reflectors is still poorly known. In this work, we perform a temporal analysis over the region of the Virunga Volcanic Province (Democratic Republic of Congo - DRC) and we show that ...

A Novel Mechanical Frequency Tuning Method Based on Mass-Stiffness Decoupling for MEMS Gyroscopes
MEMS gyroscopes play an important role in inertial navigation measurements, which mainly works in n = 2 mode. However, mode matching is the basis for high-precision detection, which can improve the sensitivity, resolution, and signal-to-noise ratio of ...

Rectangular split-ring resonators with single-split and two-splits under different excitations at microwave frequencies [PDF]
In this work, transmission characteristics of rectangular split-ring resonators with single-split and two-splits are analyzed at microwave frequencies. The resonators are coupled with monopole antennas for excitation. The scattering parameters of the devices are investigated under different polarizations of E and H fields.

Effects of Structural Dimension Variation on the Vibration of MEMS Ring-Based Gyroscopes
This study investigated the effects of structural dimension variation arising from fabrication imperfections or active structural design on the vibration characteristics of a (100) single crystal silicon (SCS) ring-based Coriolis vibratory gyroscope.
