Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Development and research of gas laser for telecommunications
A design of a frequency-stabilized helium–neon laser with a radiation wavelength of 1.5231 μm is proposed. Stabilization is achieved using additional visible radiation at a wavelength of 0.6328 μm.

Frequency model of an essentially nonlinear steering drive with a digital microcontroller
When designing a stabilization system for highly maneuverable unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), one of the relevant tasks is to study the operation of the steering drive in the frequency band corresponding to the flexural vibrations of the UAV body.

Stabilization effect of dynamic stabilizer with different operation parameters
Dynamic stabilization operation can effectively improve the mechanical performance of ballast bed by using stabilizer. To improve the stabilization effect, a rigid-flexible coupling dynamics simulation model of the stabilizer-ballast bed system was ...
