Care of the Child Supported on High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation
AACN Clinical Issues: Advanced Practice in Acute and Critical Care, 1994High frequency oscillatory ventilation is a new mode of ventilatory support of acute respiratory failure in the pediatric population. Delineating the nursing care required of this fragile group of infants and children is challenging, because there is a paucity of published data and national clinical experience. The author reviews a management plan that

Oscillatory support for rapid frequency change processing in infants
Neuropsychologia, 2013Rapid auditory processing and auditory change detection abilities are crucial aspects of speech and language development, particularly in the first year of life. Animal models and adult studies suggest that oscillatory synchrony, and in particular low-frequency oscillations play key roles in this process.

Natural Frequencies of Plate Supported Thermowells
Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology, 2015An idealized model of a welded-flange thermowell is used to establish the role of flange thickness in natural frequency estimates. It is found that for thermowell diameters comparable to flange thickness, the support compliance of the thermowell/flange interface approaches that expected for a semi-infinite support.

An External Memory Supported ACO for the Frequency Assignment Problem
2005Ant colony optimization algorithm is integrated with an external memory for the purpose of improving its efficiency for the solution of a well-known hard combinatorial optimization problem. The external memory keeps variable-size solution segments extracted from promising solutions of previous iterations.

Natural Frequencies Formula for Simply Supported Mindlin Plates
Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, 1994This paper presents an explicit formula for the vibration frequencies of simply supported Mindlin plates in terms of the corresponding thin (Kirchhoff) plate frequencies. The formula has been obtained from an exact vibration analysis of simply supported rectangular Mindlin plates. When the formula was applied to other simply supported plate shapes such

Natural Frequencies of Nonuniform Beams on Multiple Elastic Supports
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1958Abstract A method is presented for the determination of the natural frequencies of nonuniform beams on two or more torsionally and linearly elastic supports, including the effect of rotary mass moment of inertia. The method employed is an extension of the Myklestad method.
