Minimally Supported Frequency Composite Dilation Wavelets

Journal of Fourier Analysis and Applications, 2009
Recently, in response to the growing interest in oriented oscillatory waveforms, \textit{K. Guo, D. Labate, W.-Q. Lim, G. Weiss}, and \textit{E. Wilson} introduced a new class of representation systems called \textit{Affine Systems with Composite Dilations} [Electron. Res. Announc. Am. Math. Soc. 10, 78--87 (2004; Zbl 1066.42023); in: Harmonic analysis

Optimal frequency support by dynamic demand

2013 IEEE Grenoble Conference, 2013
A high penetration of renewable energy sources challenges future grid frequency control. Decentralized demand control can contribute to this frequency control. In this paper a method is proposed where residential demand is controlled to support the frequency.

Frequency-Constrained Generation Expansion Planning with Frequency Support from Wind Farm

2020 IEEE/IAS Industrial and Commercial Power System Asia (I&CPS Asia), 2020
With the increasing integration of renewable energy, the inertia of power systems evidently decreases and poses a critical challenge to planners. To guarantee the frequency stability of the system with high shares of renewable energy, this paper presents a novel multi-machine system frequency response (MSFR) model, which tends to additionally ...

Grid frequency support from inverter connected generation

2021 31st Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference (AUPEC), 2021
This paper presents a case study to demonstrate impact of current fleet of inverter connected generation (roof top photovoltaics and utility scale grid following inverters) that have been allowed to connect to power networks with no obligations to respond to system under frequency events.

Frequency Support of a Wind Power Plant For Over-Frequency Disturbances

2020 IEEE 4th Conference on Energy Internet and Energy System Integration (EI2), 2020
This study addresses an improved frequency control strategy of a wind power plant for boosting the frequency control capability by using separate variable droop control characteristics when an over-frequency disturbance occurs. The test system embedded a wind power plant is employed to investigate the performance of the proposed frequency control ...

Aggregation Frequency Response Modeling for Wind Farms with Frequency Support Capabilities

2019 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting (PESGM), 2019
The high penetration wind power will count towards a significant portion of future power grid. This significant role requires wind turbine generator (WTG) to contribute to primary frequency regulation support. Consequently, it is necessary to investigate the dynamic frequency response of wind farms. In this paper, an aggregated frequency response model

Natural Frequencies of Plate Supported Thermowells

Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology, 2015
An idealized model of a welded-flange thermowell is used to establish the role of flange thickness in natural frequency estimates. It is found that for thermowell diameters comparable to flange thickness, the support compliance of the thermowell/flange interface approaches that expected for a semi-infinite support.

Frequency Stabilization of a VCDRO by Microcontroller Supported Frequency Lock Loop

2007 8th International Conference on Telecommunications in Modern Satellite, Cable and Broadcasting Services, 2007
The paper presents frequency stabilization of a VCDRO operating at 11 GHz by using a frequency lock loop supported by microcontroller. The signal from a PLL synthesizer is used as a reference signal in the FLL in order to obtain a signal with characteristics like one originating from a free- running VCDRO having, in the same time, stability close to a ...

Seismic Support: Speedy Determination of Frequency

Journal of the Structural Division, 1979
Seismic restraints are provided to support safety-related electrical cable trays or conduits and HVAC ductwork in nuclear power plant structures. It is shown that most of these restraints, in the form of frames, can be represented by single-degree-of-freedom models for analysis and design. Approximate formulas, based on the stiffness of the SDOF models,

A Cell-Based Wide-Frequency-Range DLL Supporting Fast Frequency Scaling

2019 17th IEEE International New Circuits and Systems Conference (NEWCAS), 2019
In this paper, we present a cell-based wide-frequency-range DLL supporting clock frequencies from 10MHz to 1GHz in 90nm. To support fast locking (during frequency scaling), we present novel architecture with a socalled “fast-locking mode” - in which the control code for the Long-Range Delay Block (LRDB) can be quickly determined in a way that the ...
