A Bipolar MMIC Frequency Tripler

Mixer-based injection-locked frequency tripler
2017 IEEE International Symposium on Radio-Frequency Integration Technology (RFIT), 2017An injection-locked frequency tripler with a push-push frequency doubler and a mixer core is demonstrated. The core power consumption of this design takes 5.34 mW. The locking range is from 13.5 GHz to 20.8 GHz. If concerning about the output power flatness, the acceptable frequency range is from 15.9 GHz to 17.1 GHz. The output power is −5 dBm.

Design of submillimeter wave frequency tripler
2009 Asia Pacific Microwave Conference, 2009The design and analysis of submillimeter wave balanced frequency tripler using commercially available DBES105a GaAs schottky barrier diodes is reported in this paper. The circuit design, simulation and optimization of the tripler are carried out by using HFSS and ADS. The tripler reported here adopted microstrip line as the transmission line.

Synthesis of active microwave frequency triplers
Proceedings of the 43rd IEEE Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat.No.CH37144), 2002After a brief discussion of active multiplier realizations, the authors focus on the synthesis of bipolar microwave frequency doublers in several topologies. The synthesis is outlined in four fundamental steps which encompass embedding network synthesis, device selection, bias optimization, and drive power determination.

An analysis of the frequency tripler

A SiGe Distributed Millimeter-Wave Frequency Tripler
IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2014A distributed differential frequency tripler covering the 30-90 GHz range is implemented in IBM 0.13-μm SiGe technology. The distributed design utilizes a right-handed input and a left-handed output synthesized transmission lines to overcome the challenging fundamental rejection.

Design of millimeter-wave CMOS frequency tripler
