Improved frequency tripler with integrated single-barriervaractor

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2000
A monolithically integrated frequency tripler on semi-insulating GaAs substrate with a 210 GHz output frequency is presented. The measured conversion efficiency using a GaAs-GaAlAs single-barrier varactor is 13.5%, with an output power of >10 mW.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Laboratory rotational ground state transitions of NH$_3$D$^+$ and CF$^+$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Aims. This paper reports accurate laboratory frequencies of the rotational ground state transitions of two astronomically relevant molecular ions, NH3D+ and CF+. Methods. Spectra in the millimeter-wave band were recorded by the method of rotational state-

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

A Tunable 240–290 GHz Waveguide Enclosed 2-D Grid HBV Frequency Tripler [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper presents a high-power 240–290 GHz waveguide enclosed two-dimensional (2-D) grid heterostructure barrier varactor (HBV) frequency multiplier. A 35 mW of output power is produced at 247 GHz with an input power of 900 mW.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Magnetic Frequency Tripler Using Amorphous Cores.

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Industry Applications, 1993
Magnetic frequecy tripler has a configuration with star-connected primary windings and open-delta-connected secondary windings of three saturable reactors. This paper describes a tripler comprised of saturable reactor using an iron amorphous magnetic material for higher efficiency.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
