Impacts of Diatomaceous Earth on the Properties of Cement Pastes
Fresh properties of concrete are closely related to operation and construction, such as transporting, placing, compacting, etc.; and they also have a great impact on the lifetime performance of concrete. In this paper, the influence of Diatomaceous Earth

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Statistical properties of fresh snow roughness [PDF]
We present results from a series of experiments in which fresh snow roughness was measured by means of digital photography and analyzed using the random field approach. The aim of the paper is to investigate the scaling properties of fresh‐snow‐covered surfaces and to capture key roughness length scales which can characterize the surface geometry and ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

The Mechanical Properties of Fresh and Cryopreserved Arterial Homografts
To assess the effect of cryopreservation on the elasticity and compliance of arterial allografts.Iliofemoral segments of arteries and veins harvested from multiorgan donors were divided into two groups: fresh-control, tested for 24 hours after harvesting, and cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen after pretreatment with 20% dimethylsulphoxide and stored for

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
