Sublethal effects of copper on the freshwater crab Potamonautes warreni
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Molecular & Integrative Physiology, 2002The mass specific rates of oxygen consumption (M (O(2)) M(b)(-1)), ammonia excretion (M (NH(4)-N) M(b)(-1)) and carbon dioxide production (M (CO(2)) M(b)(-1)) were measured after 7, 14 and 21 days exposure of adult Potamonautes warreni to a sublethal concentration of 1.0 mg Cu l(-1) (15.75 micromol l(-1)).

Cadmium inhibits the vitellogenesis of freshwater crab Sinopotamon henanense
Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, 2015Abstract Cadmium (Cd) may pose risks to freshwater organisms, including crabs that live at the interface of sediments and water column all year round. One of the major changes that occur during oocyte maturation of crabs is the production of vitellin.

Selection of gastropod prey by a tropical freshwater crab
Journal of Zoology, 1990Prey selection by Somaniathelphusa sinensis (Parathelphusidae) among five gastropod species (two prosobranchs, three pulmonates) was associated with two snail attributes. First, the degree of defence of the tissues by the shell, approximated by shell weight (SW)/tissue dry weight (M).

Phosphoglucose isomerase polymorphism in the freshwater crab Sesarma boulengeri
Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, 1987Abstract Three phenotypes of phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI) were detected in abdominal muscle extracts from freshwater crab ( Sesarma boulengeri ) by starch-gel electrophoresis. The observed phenotypes were assumed to be under the control of two allelic genes. This assumption was supported by the observed distribution of phenotypes.

Freshwater shrimp, prawns, crab and crayfish (Decapoda)
2002Decapods are usually large, highly mobile animals. They are often the largest invertebrates in a stream and as a result are an important part of the food chain.

Slope orientation in freshwater crabs: a field study.
1988River crabs were marked with radiotransmitters and their orientation in different contexts was recorded, showing that slope is the main environmental stimulus they follow to reach water.
