Fresnel-Type Transition Zones

Радиотехника и электроника, 2023
A family of exact solutions of the two-dimensional Helmholtz equation is constructed, which are suitable for describing wavefields in transition zones arising in Fresnel-type diffraction. As examples, in addition to wedge diffraction, high-frequency asymptotics of the field in problems of diffraction on obstacles with non-smooth curvature are ...

Variable Fresnel Zone Pattern

Applied Optics, 1967
Among the conceivable uses of Fresnel Zone Plates (FZP) are image formation, synthesis of holograms, coherence measurements, spectrometry, optical analog computation, and optical testing. Sometimes it is desirable to change the scale of the FZP continuously, for example to give a zoom lens effect when the FZP is used for image formation.

Fresnel zones calculation Part 2

Applied Optics, 1976
The method of the contour integral of Maggi-Rubinowicz is used to calculate exactly the contribution of a Fresnel zone taken over a general plane for the case of an incident spherical wave.

Supplementary Zones-surrounded Fresnel Zone Plate

JSAP-OSA Joint Symposia 2014 Abstracts, 2014
The supplementary zones surround an ordinary Fresnel Zone Plate (FZP) are used to improve the optical resolution at focus. Based on the Fresnel-Kirchhoff diffraction formula, an optimization model is used to design the supplementary zones-included FZP (SZFZP).

Three Fresnel zone examples

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 1995, 1995
Three case histories demonstrate the significance of the Fresnel zone, and the importance of 3-D seismic. In the first example, an operator attempted to acquire 2-D seismic data to determine whether a producing reservoir on an adjacent property covered sufficient area on his property to warrant a well.

Polygonal Fresnel zone plates

Journal of Optics A: Pure and Applied Optics, 2009
The performance of Fresnel zone plates having a polygonal boundary between zones has been studied. The contribution of the complex amplitude of each zone is calculated analytically and numerically solved. The case of a continuous phase plate is considered as the limit case in performance for each polygonal shape.
