High Entropy Wide‐Bandgap Borates with Broadband Luminescence and Large Nonlinear Optical properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 35, 30 April 2026.
High‐entropy rare‐earth borates exhibit excellent nonlinear optical and broadband luminescence properties arising from multi‐component doping, chemical disorder, increased configurational entropy, and increased lattice and electronic anharmonicity. This formulation enabled us to obtain a large, environmentally stable single crystal with 3X higher laser‐

Transmission zone plates as analyzers for efficient parallel 2D RIXS-mapping

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
We have implemented and successfully tested an off-axis transmission Fresnel zone plate as spectral analyzer for resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS).

Very High Resolution Solar X-ray Imaging Using Diffractive Optics

open access: yes, 2012
This paper describes the development of X-ray diffractive optics for imaging solar flares with better than 0.1 arcsec angular resolution. X-ray images with this resolution of the \geq10 MK plasma in solar active regions and solar flares would allow the ...

Novel Functional Materials via 3D Printing by Vat Photopolymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 32, 20 April 2026.
This Perspective systematically analyzes strategies for incorporating functionalities into 3D‐printed materials via Vat Photopolymerization (VP). It explores the spectrum of achievable functionalities in recently reported novel materials—such as conductive, energy‐storing, biodegradable, stimuli‐responsive, self‐healing, shape‐memory, biomaterials, and

Ray tracing through Fresnel zone plate.

open access: yesJournal of the Spectroscopical Society of Japan, 1987
Simple equations for tracing rays through the Fresnel zone plate have been derived. The spot diagram constructed by means of the ray tracing shows an appearance of imagery of the Fresnel zone plate as a focusing element. The spot diagram can be obtained not only for the real images but also for the imaginary images.

Material Modification of Borofloat 33 During Scanning‐Based Microforming Using Femtosecond Laser Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 14, 10 April 2026.
Possibilities for ablation‐free microforming of borosilicate glass using ultrashort laser pulses are presented. Depending on the laser parameters and scanning strategy, surface structures with profile heights of up to 20 µm could be produced. The work provides a comprehensive experimental and analytical characterization of the microforming process ...

Manipulating light at distance by a metasurface using momentum transformation

open access: yes, 2014
A momentum conservation approach is introduced to manipulate light at distance using metasurfaces. Given a specified field existing on one side of the metasurface and specified desired field transmitted from the opposite side, a general momentum boundary

Absorption‐Dominant Electromagnetic Interference Shielding of Ti3C2Tx MXene‐Coated and Fe3O4‐Integrated TPMS Composites with Coupled Gradient Conductivity and Size‐Graded Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 22, 17 April 2026.
A functionally driven variable‐cell size and gradient‐conductive coated TPMS structure was developed. Accordingly, stepwise longitudinal gradient impedance was realized, achieving absorption‐dominant EMI shielding (absorptivity≈0.85) with an EMI SET of ≈ 59 dB, for 10 mm‐thick composites. Further increasing the thickness of composites to 20 mm achieved
