Fundamental problems of fretting wear.
Recent studies of fretting wear are reviewed on the basis of work carried out by the author's laboratory. Some of the new findings are introduced below. (1) The critical amplitude to produce severe wear is equivalent to the amplitude when the non-slip region disappears in the elastic contact.
