Encapsulated Skin-Ego and Anti-Corporeal Manichaean Myth of Femininity in Transmission
We propose, within the context of a Skin Model of Ego Development (SMED), that Didier Anzieu’s work of the skin-ego is a useful entry point into understanding the Manichaean mythic view of femininity as creating an encapsulated skin-ego, that tends to ...

The literature on the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the importance of investigating its impact on mental health during this sensitive period, also in relation to the female menstrual cycle. To this end, interceptive sensibility has emerged as a fundamental

<i>Byōseki</i> and pathography: Their commonalities and differences. [PDF]
Abstract The German psychiatrist Paul Julius Möbius began to use the term Pathographie in a new sense: a psychiatric biography of a historical figure that focuses on their pathological aspects. Byōseki, which originated from Möbius's Pathographie, refers to a uniquely Japanese practice that explores the relationship between creativity and ...

Laguerre-Freud Equations for three families of hypergeometrical discrete orthogonal polynomials [PDF]
The Cholesky factorization of the moment matrix is considered for discrete orthogonal polynomials of hypergeometrical type. We derive the Laguerre-Freud equations when the first moments of the weights are given by the ${}_1F_2$, ${}_2F_2$ and ${}_3F_2$ generalized hypergeometrical functions.

The ‘legal’ in socio‐legal history: Woods and Pirie v. Cumming Gordon
Abstract This article explores the Scottish defamation case Woods and Pirie v. Cumming Gordon (1810–1812) in order to demonstrate the value of legal readings across the broadest spectrum of socio‐legal history. While the case has attracted attention from social historians, particularly historians of sexuality, it was shrouded in secrecy and thus did ...

Generalised Freud's equation and level densities with polynomial potential [PDF]
We study orthogonal polynomials with weight $\exp[-NV(x)]$, where $V(x)=\sum_{k=1}^{d}a_{2k}x^{2k}/2k$ is a polynomial of order 2d. We derive the generalised Freud's equations for $d=3$, 4 and 5 and using this obtain $R_{\mu}=h_{\mu}/h_{\mu -1}$, where $h_{\mu}$ is the normalization constant for the corresponding orthogonal polynomials.

Making sex: body and gender from the Greeks to Freud
simultaneously explore the roots of divisiveness and suggest models for a discourse of difference. The essays explore a broad range of issues, including &dquo;sex wars,&dquo; the Sears case, and the Baby M case, the realtion of gender to other prominent ...

Laguerre-Freud Equations for the Generalized Charlier, Generalized Meixner and Gauss Hypergeometric Orthogonal Polynomials [PDF]
The Cholesky factorization of the moment matrix is considered for the generalized Charlier, generalized Meixner, and Gauss hypergeometric discrete orthogonal polynomials. For the generalized Charlier, we present an alternative derivation of the Laguerre-Freud relations found by Smet and Van Assche.
