Trust and distrust are constructs that have provoked and undergone lots of discussion in the fields of sociology and psychology. However, to our knowledge, there is little agreement about how these constructs should be treated in the future.

A Generalised Sextic Freud Weight [PDF]
We discuss the recurrence coefficients of orthogonal polynomials with respect to a generalised sextic Freud weight \[\omega(x;t,\lambda)=|x|^{2\lambda+1}\exp\left(-x^6+tx^2\right),\qquad x\in\mathbb{R},\] with parameters $\lambda>-1$ and $t\in\mathbb{R}$.

Recognizability and recognition as human—Learning from Butler and Manne
Abstract Judith Butler and Kate Manne shed, in different ways, doubt on the capacity of the recognition‐paradigm to comprehend phenomena of crucial ethical and political importance: whereas Butler argues that deeper than recognition are “frames” in light of which individuals and groups appear as recognizable human beings at all, Manne argues that too ...

Envisager l’idéologie et l’utopie depuis une phénoménologie du pâtir et de l’agir
I pursue here a wish of Ricœur: to analyze ideology and utopia from a genetic phenomenology, in the sense of Husserl in the Cartesian Meditations, which “strives to dig under the surface of apparent meaning to the most fundamental meanings.” A single ...

Gauss Quadrature for Freud Weights, Modulation Spaces, and Marcinkiewicz-Zygmund Inequalities [PDF]
We study Gauss quadrature for Freud weights and derive worst case error estimates for functions in a family of associated Sobolev spaces. For the Gaussian weight $e^{-\pi x^2}$ these spaces coincide with a class of modulation spaces which are well-known in (time-frequency) analysis and also appear under the name of Hermite spaces.
