Derivation of the Freundlich Equation for Ion Exchange Reactions in Soils
Abstract The Freundlich adsorption isotherm equation is derived rigorously for the trace adsorption of an ion participating in an exchange reaction. The derivation, which is an application of some general results obtained by R. Sips, is based on the assumption that the exchanger surface is heterogeneous and that each class of exchange

Kinetic equations of non-localized physical adsorption in vacuum for Freundlich adsorption isotherm
Abstract The paper considers the phenomenological description of non-localized physical adsorption in vacuum as two kinetic equations for monolayer and multilayer adsorption. The monolayer adsorption equation takes into account logarithmic dependence of adsorption heat on the degree of coverage.

Soil sorption of caesium modelled by the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm equations
The Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm equations were used to model Cs sorption in 6 Welsh soils. The pH (in water), of the soils ranged from 3.5 to 6.5, and the estimated organic matter (determined by loss-on-ignition) ranged from 4.8% to 46%.

Statistical Mechanical Study on the Freundlich Isotherm Equation
The Freundlich isotherm equation, in the form of theta = KP1/n, was derived by treating the model with the ensemble theory in statistical mechanics as a theoretical tool, the model being set up for the adsorption system with emphasis on two factors, namely the lateral interaction between the adsorbed molecules and the energetic surface heterogeneity ...

Relationship between Freundlich-type equation constants and molecular orbital properties
Abstract Freundlich equation is developed by correlating its coefficients of n and K with molecular properties of adsorbate and adsorbent involved in adsorption systems. Adsorption isotherm tests in aqueous solution were conducted using a conventional batch bottle technique, in which an activated carbon and a synthetic styrene-based resin were used ...

Abstract The kinetics of adsorption for Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms has been explored theoretically on the basis of Statistical Rate Theory (SRT). The Modified Pseudo-First-Order (MPFO) and Pseudo-First-Order (PFO) models were derived from Freundlich isotherm on the basis of Statistical Rate Theory at c 0 ≫ c e and at close to ...

A derivation of chemical equilibrium equations for a spherical thin film of solution around a soluble solid nanoparticle is presented. The equations obtained generalize the Gibbs–Kelvin–Köhler and Ostwald–Freundlich equations for a soluble particle immersed in the bulk phase.

Abstract This work presents an attempt to modify the properties of calcite by mechanical activation in order to enhance its capacity for heavy metal removal. The equilibrium isotherms of zinc adsorption onto the mineral show the data correlate well with Freundlich model. Experiments with temperature changes in sorption tests proved that chemisorption
