General purpose Freundlich isotherms for cadmium, copper and zinc in soils

European Journal of Soil Science, 1999
Summary Assessing the accumulation and transport of trace metals in soils and the associated toxicological risks on a national scale requires generally applicable sorption equations. Therefore Freundlich equations were derived for Cd, Zn and Cu using multiple linear regression on batch sorption data from the ...

Adsorption of Local Anesthetics on Activated Carbon: Freundlich Adsorption Isotherms

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1990
We have shown that adsorbability of local anesthetics onto activated carbon, expressed by the partition coefficients at infinite dilution, correlated well with the pharmacological activity. However, there is no parameter that can singly express the tendency to be adsorbed.

D-optimal experimental designs for Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherms

Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems, 2009
In this paper, D-optimal experimental designs are derived for three common adsorption isotherm models: the 2-parameter Freundlich, the 2-parameter Langmuir, and the 3-parameter Langmuir. For each of these liquid-solid adsorption models, the D-optimal design equations are derived from the information matrix and then solved numerically to determine the ...

A Freundlich-type multicomponent isotherm

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1981
Abstract A multicomponent adsorption isotherm is derived based on the assumption that an exponential distribution of adsorption energies exists for each component. A prerequisite for the application of the isotherm is that each component individually obey the Freundlich isotherm.

Freundlich's Isotherm Extended by Statistical Mechanics

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1997
In this paper we obtain an asymptotic development compatible with Freundlich's isotherm, theta = KCm. That expression was derived underlying the theory of heterogeneous surface. We assume the distribution function of adsorption sites to be in the exponential form and the sites to follow the Langmuir energy homogeneous isotherm.

A sorbent concentration-dependent Freundlich isotherm

Colloid and Polymer Science, 2012
During study of the adsorption isotherms at solid–liquid interfaces, a sorbent concentration effect (Cs-effect) phenomenon was observed. In order to describe the Cs-effect, we proposed a new adsorption model, i.e., surface component activity (SCA) model. It supposes that the interaction between the sorbent particles exists in the real adsorption system,

Adsorption isotherms and kinetic modeling of methylene blue dye onto a carbonaceous hydrochar adsorbent derived from coffee husk waste.

Science of the Total Environment, 2020
In this study, activated carbon in the form of carbonaceous hydrochar adsorbents with highly functionalized surface-active sites were produced from coffee husk waste via hydrothermal carbonization under low-temperature conditions (180 °C) and subsequent ...

Adsorption of three pesticides on polyethylene microplastics in aqueous solutions: Kinetics, isotherms, thermodynamics, and molecular dynamics simulation.

Chemosphere, 2020
Microplastics could act as a carrier for pesticides in the water environment and pose a potential risk. This study mainly investigated the effects of reaction time, microplastics dosages, pH, and NaCl salinity on the adsorption characteristics of three ...
