The ”Roche” Friabilator*

Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1956
Breakage of medicinal tablets is a source of complaint and is an economic waste. It is desirable, therefore, to formulate and produce tablets which will survive handling in production and in distribution. Estimation of the ability of tablets to survive such handling has been difficult because of the lack of an adequate test to measure the property.

SOIL FRIABILITY

Journal of Soil Science, 1981
Summary Soil friability is defined and a method for its measurement is developed from the theory of brittle fracture of soil aggregates. The variation in friability with soil water content is in good agreement with the results of tillage experiments done by earlier workers. It is found that Urrbrae and Strathalbyn sandy loams are most

Callus friability and somatic embryogenesis inHevea brasiliensis [PDF]

open access: possiblePlant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, 1993
The influence of plant growth regulators, sucrose, calcium and various macronutrient media on callus friability and somatic embryogenesis was investigated inHevea brasiliensis Mull. Arg. Friable and embryogenic calli were spontaneously formed in two rubber tree clones (PR 107 and RRIM 600) on the Medium for Hevea (MH), with 3,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic ...

Optimizing the Friability of a Tablet Formulation

Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, 1987
AbstractThe impact on tablet friability caused by the loss-on-drying of the granulation, the granule-size distribution, the lubricant concentration, the compression force, and the pre-compression was scrutinized in a factorially designed experiment. A reduction of friability was obtained by reducing the deviation of the granulation loss-on-drying from ...

On the index of friability

International Journal of Number Theory
Given an integer [Formula: see text], let [Formula: see text] stand for its largest prime factor, setting [Formula: see text]. We introduce the arithmetic function [Formula: see text] (with [Formula: see text]) and call it the index of friability of the integer n.

The Effect of the Binding Agents on the Friability and Compressibility of Granules

Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy, 1989
AbstractThe friability of granule is one of the most important parameters which effects the properties of compressed tablet and several factors play an important role. In this study the effects of the molecular weights and types of the binding agents on friabilityand conpressibility of granules were investigated.

Determining Friability of Plant Materials

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal, 2003
Manufacturing tablets with preliminary granulation of the components is a complex, energy-consuming process involving wetting and heating stages, taking a long time and requiring large working rooms. Such operations may significantly influence both the therapeutic efficacy and the bioaccessibility of the active substances [1].

Friability Testing as a New Stress-Stability Assay for Biopharmaceuticals

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2017
A cycle of dropping and shaking a vial containing antibody solution was reported to induce aggregation. In this study, antibody solutions in glass prefillable syringes with or without silicone oil lubrication were subjected to the combined stresses of dropping and shaking, using a friability testing apparatus.
