Dual Blockade of LILRB1 and LILRB2 Enhances Antiviral Immune Responses in SIV Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dual LILRB1/B2 blockade with mac20G10 reshapes myeloid activation during acute SIV infection by targeting LILRB1 and LILRB2 on myeloid cells. This treatment enhances CD80 expression on selected myeloid subsets and increases plasma IFN‐λ, IL‐8, and IL‐1RA.

Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor controls neural and behavioral plasticity in response to cocaine

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Cocaine addiction is accompanied by dysfunction in neural circuits related to reward, but it is unclear how these adaptations occur. Here, authors identify granulocyte-colony stimulating factor as a potent mediator of cocaine-induced adaptations, and ...

Using participatory epidemiology to investigate women’s knowledge on the seasonality and causes of acute malnutrition in Karamoja, Uganda

open access: yesPastoralism, 2023
The Karamoja region of northeast Uganda had been characterized by high levels of acute malnutrition (AM) for decades, despite substantial aid investment in nutrition programmes.

Neuropeptide Y—Graphene Oxide Complexes Inhibit Amygdala NPY‐Receptor Expressing Glutamatergic Pathways and Selectively Remove Aversive Memory In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A graphene oxide nanocarrier presents neuropeptide Y specifically to NPY receptor‐expressing pathways in the amygdala, whose activation selectively suppresses aversive memory formation, without modulating anxiety responses. This circuit‐restricted drug release strategy may impact future design of neuropsychiatric therapies with limited off‐target ...

Bernard Friedman's Urn

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1965
The case $\beta = 0$ is the famous Polya (1931) Urn; a discussion of its elementary properties can be found in (Feller, 1960, Chapter IV) and (Frechet, 1943). These facts about the Polya Urn are a classical part of the oral tradition, although some have yet to appear in print (see Blackwell and Kendall, 1964).

Programmable Chaotic Suspension Electrolysis for Scalable Manufacturing of Vacancy‐Tunable Electrolytic MnO2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Programmable chaotic suspension electrolysis bridges laboratory synthesis and industrial manufacturing of high‐performance MnO2 cathodes. This scalable strategy enables tunable oxygen vacancies and a robust γ/β tunnel framework, delivering superior electrochemical performance and thermal stability.

Magnetoelectric Nanoparticles Enable Modulation of Cortical Networks by Low‐Intensity Static Magnetic Fields In Vitro

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neuromodulation strategies are increasingly needed to stimulate, restore, or replace altered neuronal activity in disease. Cobalt ferrite‐barium titanate (CFO–BTO) magnetoelectric nanoparticles convert low‐intensity static magnetic fields into local electrical modulation of cortical networks.
