Electrolyte Transport Parameters and Interfacial Effects in Calcium Metal Batteries: Analogies and Differences to Magnesium and Lithium Counterparts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mg and Ca metal batteries represent promising alternatives to Li‐based batteries. Due to their position in the periodic table, the metals and their corresponding cations share commonalities, which lead to similarities but also differences in terms of electrolyte transport properties and interfacial processes.

Anticrossing of A Plasmonic Nanoresonator Mode and A Single Quantum Dot at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using the oxygen‐dependent blue‐shift in CdSe/ZnS quantum dots, their emission is deterministically tuned across the resonance of a plasmonic slit resonator, achieving a complete anticrossing with a 100 meV Rabi splitting. By pre‐characterizing the uncoupled states, strong coupling at room temperature is confirmed.

Photocatalytic Activity of Ionic Carbon Nitrides is Governed by Cation‐Modulated Dark Exciton Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes a direct link between photocatalytic activity, spectroscopic properties, and theoretical analysis of structural effects on exciton behavior in ionic carbon nitrides with different cations. The exciton lifetimes and photocatalytic activity are shown to be primarily related to different dark exciton dynamics governed by changes in ...

A Review of Designing Hierarchical Structure Within Membrane Electrode Assembly for Water Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review systematically summarizes recent advances in hierarchical structure designs within membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) for both proton exchange membrane and anion exchange membrane water electrolyzers. Emphasis is placed on the structural evolution from disordered to ordered and hierarchical architectures, their impact on charge and mass ...

Magnetically Compensated Nanometer‐Thin Ga‐Substituted Yttrium Iron Garnet (Ga:YIG) Films with Robust Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports on the remanent magnetization 4πMr and the temperature dependence of the net magnetization of magnetically compensated Ga:YIG films. For samples with very low net magnetic moments, the compensation points Tcomp and the Curie temperatures TC are determined. Ga:YIG films exhibit a significant increase in effective magnetization 4πMeff,

Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...
