Discontinuous Galerkin Methods for Friedrichs’ Systems. Part II. Second‐order Elliptic PDEs [PDF]
This paper is the second part of a work attempting to give a unified analysis of discontinuous Galerkin methods. The setting under scrutiny is that of Friedrichs’ systems endowed with a particular $2 \times 2$ structure in which one unknown can be eliminated to yield a system of second-order elliptic-like PDEs for the remaining unknown.

Direct-Splitting-Based CN-FDTD for Modeling 2D Material Nanostructure Problems
Incorporating a truncation of the complex-frequency-shifted perfectly matched layer (CFS-PML), the direct-splitting- based Crank-Nicolson finite-difference time-domain (CNDS-FDTD) is developed and applied to the infrared two-dimensional layered material (

Detection of fixed points in spatiotemporal signals by clustering method
We present a method to determine fixed points in spatiotemporal signals. A 144-dimensioanl simulated signal, similar to a Kueppers-Lortz instability, is analyzed and its fixed points are reconstructed.Comment: 3 pages, 3 ...

“Freedom” as a culture-bound concept in works by Friedrich Shiller
The article analyses the concept “freedom” in works by a great German poet Friedrich Schiller. The aim of the research is to distinguish characteristics of the concept. The continuous sampling method was used to collect the data for the study.

Some observations on a new numerical method for solving Navier-Stokes equations [PDF]
An explicit-implicit technique for solving Navier-Stokes equations is described which, is much less complex than other implicit methods. It is used to solve a complex, two-dimensional, steady-state, supersonic-flow problem.

Regeneration of Stochastic Processes: An Inverse Method
We propose a novel inverse method that utilizes a set of data to construct a simple equation that governs the stochastic process for which the data have been measured, hence enabling us to reconstruct the stochastic process. As an example, we analyze the
