This study advances our understanding of thioarsenates utilization in prokaryotic bioenergetics by examining a photosynthetic bacterium from hypersaline and alkaline environments. It suggests the role of the Sox system, a thiosulfate‐oxidizing mechanism, in thioarsenates metabolism.
