A step into the shadows: Evolutionary shifts in fruit structure and dispersal strategies in Asian mycoheterotrophic Ericaceae

This study examines how the fruits of non‐photosynthetic forest plants in the Monotropoideae (Ericaceae) have evolved into the diversity observed today. By analyzing four Asian species, we identified a shift from dry, dehiscent fruits that release seeds into the air to fleshy, berry‐like fruits adapted for animal dispersal.

Human Blood‐Brain Tumor Barrier on a Chip to Investigate Personalized Treatment for Glioblastoma Patients

A microfluidic model of the glioblastoma (GBM) margin was developed to mimic patient‐specific blood‐brain tumor barrier (BBTB) function and drug response. The platform revealed inter‐patient variability in barrier integrity and drug sensitivity, offering a tool for personalized therapy evaluation in GBM.

Successful Treatment of Mycobacterium caprae Infection in Two UK Cats

This article describes the first cases of successful treatment and long term resolution of clinical signs of two cats infected with Mycobacterium caprae. This suggests that the “triple antibiotics therapy” (rifampicin, azithromycin and pradofloxacin) used for other Mycobacterium tuberculosis‐complex infections in cats can be used safely and effectively
