A predistortion-based 3-D phase mapping method with linear epipolar constraints for fringe projection system calibration and measurement is reported. Hybrid system calibration methods have been developed recently to provide accurate measurement, high speed, and flexibility for fringe projection profilometry (FPP).

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2017
The performance of the two selected spatial frequency phase unwrapping methods is limited by a phase error bound beyond which errors will occur in the fringe order leading to a significant error in the recovered absolute phase map. In this paper, we propose a method to detect and correct the wrong fringe orders.

Optoelectronic fringe projection operations
SPIE Proceedings, 1990We present a simple optoelectronical fringe projection method for topographic or deformation study of objects. Programmed positioning and repositioning can also be performed. 1. DESCRIPTION An incoherent method for fringe projection operations was recently reported'' using photographic procedures.

Profilometry by fringe projection
Optical Engineering, 2003We present a method to obtain profilometry of a suitable ob- ject by fringe projection. The method is appropriate to the case of large objects as compared to the distance from the illuminating source, that is, a nonconstant equivalent wavelength. We develop an experiment to lat- erally displace a set of fringes on a sphere and obtain quantitative re ...

Reverse engineering by fringe projection
SPIE Proceedings, 2002We report on the development of a versatile and portable optical profilometer and show its applicability for quick and accurate digitization of 3-D objects. The profilometer is an advanced fringe-projection system that uses a calibrated LCD matrix for fringe-pattern generation, a hierarchical sequence of fringe patterns to demodulate the measured phase,

A Panoramic Fringe Projection system
Optics and Lasers in Engineering, 2014Abstract In this work, we present a novel Panoramic Fringe Projection system (PFP) to retrieve the three-dimensional topography of quasi-cylindrical objects along their full length and around the entire circumference. The proposed procedure uses a 45° concave conical mirror to project a circular sinusoidal fringe pattern onto a specimen placed ...

Improvement on fringe projection profilometry
Optical Engineering, 2015Improvements described consist of modifications of a composite fringe pattern in both frequency and direction of carrier fringes. Through these modified changes, the range of the measurable frequency under the scope of this study is increased nearly fourfold above its normal range.

Binary fringe patterns generation for high-quality digital fringe projection
2017 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation (ICMA), 2017Recent studies show that the optimized dithering techniques can improve 3D shape measurement quality with a defocused projector in the digital fringe projection system. The previous techniques optimize the binary fringe quality in intensity or phase domain according to their objective functions. Intensity based optimization has better robustness to the

Gamma correction for digital fringe projection profilometry
Applied Optics, 2004Digital fringe projection profilometry utilizes a digital video projector as a structured light source and thus gains great flexibility. However, the gamma nonlinearity of the video projector inevitably decreases the accuracy and resolution of the measurement.

Fringe projection profilometry based on complementary color-encoded fringe patterns
Optics & Laser Technology, 2012Abstract 3D measurement techniques based on color-encoded fringe pattern projection have been widely used in various fields of engineering recently. There is one problem that the surface color of measured object may interfere with the color of projected fringe pattern.
