Ultrafast Optoacoustics Reveals Intricate 3D Anisotropic Elasticity in Nanocrystalline Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ultrafast optoacoustic spectroscopy combined with a Sagnac interferometer enables non‐contact, simultaneous characterization of thickness and the full three‐dimensional anisotropic elastic constants in freestanding nanocrystalline copper membranes. By capturing gigahertz Lamb waves and zero‐group‐velocity resonances followed by SAFE‐GA inversion, the ...

Registration of data generated by digital fringe projection profilometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This research implements a digital fringe projection profilometry (DFPP) system that can acquire surface information of the 3-D object from multiple views, and also develops a program module that can register images from those views in the same ...

Influence of Thermal Cycling on Friction, Wear, and Damage Evolution of Fused Deposition Modeling of 3D‐Printed Glass Fiber Reinforced Polylactic Acid Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the experimental procedure of the specimens. ABSTRACT This research work investigated the effect of the cyclic thermo‐hygrometric aging regime between −20°C and +40°C with 0–400 cycles on the reciprocating tribological properties of fused deposition modeling (FDM) printed polylactic acid (PLA) and the same material reinforced ...

Fully automated low-cost setup for fringe projection profilometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
: In this paper an alternative low-cost, easy-to-use, and fully automated profilometry setup is proposed. The setup is based on a phase-shifting fringe projection technique with four projected fringe parameters.

Binary‐Solvent‐Programmed Single‐Step Inkjet Printing of Self‐Confined Micro‐Inlaid OLED Arrays

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Solvent‐programmed micro‐inlay inkjet printing enables lithography‐free, high‐resolution μ‐OLED arrays in a single step. A thermodynamically tuned 3:1 (w/w) chloroform/dichloroethane blend not only drives interfacial phase separation between the solute and polymers but also stabilizes droplet ejection, forming rim‐confined emissive domains in one pass.

Experimental Investigation into the Buckling Behavior of an Advanced Grid Stiffened Plate by a Fringe Projection Profilometry System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This article demonstrates the buckling behavior of an advanced grid stiffened (AGS) composite plate under an axial loading. The experimental results acquired by a fringe projection profilometry system shows that the buckling of the AGS plate would ...

Horizontal Ridge Augmentation Using an rhBMP‐2 Loaded Volume‐Stable Collagen Matrix Compared to Guided Bone Regeneration: A Preclinical In Vivo Study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Periodontology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To investigate whether incorporation of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein‐2 (rhBMP‐2) into a volume‐stable collagen matrix (VCMX) enhances horizontal ridge augmentation compared with VCMX alone or guided bone regeneration (GBR). Methods Chronic horizontal ridge defects were created in five canines.
