Compiling the national accounts demystified [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper unveils the mystery of national accounts statistics. National accounts statistics are not facts. They are estimates of a universal accounting model (SNA93) for describing, analyzing and managing national economies.

Strategies for Foundations: When, Why, and How to Use Venture Philanthropy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper investigates the venture philanthropy strategies of foundations. We identified six strategies of foundations engaging in venture philanthropy and explain them through case studies of four foundations based in four European countries.

Influence of Impurities on the Electrochemical Upcycling of Biomass

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 4, 25 February 2026.
5‐hydroxymethyl furfural (HMF) and furfural contain impurity levels that lie below the detection limit of common analysis techniques. Yet, these impurity levels have an adverse effect on the electrochemical conversion of these compounds. In this study, we show that distillation of furfural and recrystallization of HMF facilitates their electrochemical ...

Constraint-Based Categorial Grammar

open access: yes, 1994
We propose a generalization of Categorial Grammar in which lexical categories are defined by means of recursive constraints. In particular, the introduction of relational constraints allows one to capture the effects of (recursive) lexical rules in a ...

Scalable, Bottom‐Up Synthesis of Transition Metal–Doped Quantum Confined, 1D Titanate‐Based Lepidocrocite Nanofilaments, Their Electronic Structures and Oxygen Evolution Reactivity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 3, 3 February 2026.
Quantum‐confined lepidocrocite titanate nanofilaments are doped, bottom‐up, with Mn+2, Fe+2, Co+2, Ni+2, and Cu+2 to tune electronic structure and catalysis. Doping narrows the bandgap—by up to ∼0.8 eV—and extends visible absorption. Ni‐doped filaments accelerate oxygen evolution (319 mV at 10 mA cm−2) and TM‐doped samples rapidly degrade rhodamine 6G (

Programmable Microwaveable Chemistry in the Chemputer

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 4, 22 January 2026.
The Chemputer integrates complementary microwave modules under χDL control, enabling fully automated syntheses of O‐alkylation products, Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐couplings, ring‐closing metathesis, and peptide sequences via solid‐phase methods. This modular, programmable platform delivers flexible and scalable microwave‐assisted workflows, broadening ...

Engineering a Perfusion Bioreactor System for hiPSC‐Derived Progenitor Co‐Culture Capturing Microglial Features in CNS Development

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, Volume 123, Issue 2, Page 363-378, February 2026.
The authors report the development of a controlled and scalable 3D co‐culture system combining hiPSC‐derived erythromyeloid progenitors and neurospheres within the Ambr® 250 Modular platform operated with a newly designed perfusion system. This model faithfully recapitulates early microglia–neural interactions, enabling progenitor integration ...

Evaluation of Process Parameters for Integrated CO2 Electrolysis to Produce Ethylene

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 2, February 2026.
This work systematically explores how flow rate, pressure, and temperature influence ethylene selectivity in integrated CO2 electrolysis with a potassium carbonate absorbent. Findings reveal that higher catholyte flow rates improves Faraday efficiency for ethylene by overcoming mass transport barriers, while increased pressure or temperature does not ...

Nueva materia prima borácica como componente de esmaltes cerámicos. Estudio de su solubilidad en suspensiones acuosas concentradas

open access: yesBoletín de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio, 2009
This paper presents an alternative to the use of conventional ceramic frits as raw materials that contribute boron to glaze compositions: a new semi-processed borate (patent pending (WO 2007/148101)).

On‐Resin Pictet–Spengler Cyclization for 1,2,3,4‐Tetrahydro‐β‐carboline‐3‐carboxylate (Tcc) Peptide Synthesis With Acid‐Labile Functional Tolerance

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 32, Issue 2, February 2026.
The constrained tryptophan (Trp) analog 1,2,3,4‐tetrahydro‐β‐carboline‐3‐carboxylic acid (Tcc) is used to restrict peptide conformation in structure–activity relationship studies. Although Pictet–Spengler cyclization of Trp and aldehydes with mineral acid gives Tcc analogs, such harsh conditions do not tolerate acid‐labile functionality.
