Phases of asymmetric nuclear matter with broken space symmetries [PDF]
Isoscalar Cooper pairing in isospin asymmetric nuclear matter occurs between states populating two distinct Fermi surfaces, each for neutrons and protons. The transition from a BCS-like to the normal (unpaired) state, as the isospin asymmetry is increased, is intervened by superconducting phases which spontaneously break translational and rotational ...

Effects of Policies Designed to Keep Firearms from High-Risk Individuals [PDF]
This article summarizes and critiques available evidence from studies published between 1999 and August 2014 on the effects of policies designed to keep firearms from high-risk individuals in the United States. Some prohibitions for high-risk individuals

What do all these Buttons do? Statically Mining Android User Interfaces at Scale [PDF]
We introduce FRONTMATTER: a tool to automatically mine both user interface models and behavior of Android apps at a large scale with high precision. Given an app, FRONTMATTER statically extracts all declared screens, the user interface elements, their textual and graphical features, as well as Android APIs invoked by interacting with them.

The geometry of Rayleigh dissipation [PDF]
Geometric mechanics is a branch of mathematical physics that studies classical mechanics of particles and fields from the point of view of geometry. In a geometric language, symmetries can be expressed in a natural manner as vector fields that generate the corresponding symmetry group.

SFS-A68: a dataset for the segmentation of space functions in apartment buildings [PDF]
Analyzing building models for usable area, building safety, or energy analysis requires function classification data of spaces and related objects. Automated space function classification is desirable to reduce input model preparation effort and errors. Existing space function classifiers use space feature vectors or space connectivity graphs as input.

Randomized Numerical Linear Algebra : A Perspective on the Field With an Eye to Software [PDF]
Randomized numerical linear algebra - RandNLA, for short - concerns the use of randomization as a resource to develop improved algorithms for large-scale linear algebra computations. The origins of contemporary RandNLA lay in theoretical computer science, where it blossomed from a simple idea: randomization provides an avenue for computing ...
