We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

The effect of the aggregate type on the properties of pavement concrete [PDF]
This paper presents the results of laboratory tests on the properties of cement concrete containing various types of aggregate. The purpose of the tests was to determine the effect of aggregate on compressive strength, indirect tensile strength, air pore

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Evolution Patterns of Frost-Heaving Pressure with Partial Ponding in Cold Region Tunnels
The calculation of the frost-heaving pressure is one of the key issues in the frost-resistant design of tunnels in cold regions. To reveal the frost heave mechanism of partial ponding behind the tunnel linings, a three-dimensional geo-mechanical model ...

Simulating the Performance of a Heat Exchanger During Frosting [PDF]
Factors affecting frost distribution are explored using a finite element model, developed and validated using a full-scale 8-row heat exchanger in a wind tunnel.

A comparison of cognitive restructuring and thought listing for excessive acquiring in hoarding disorder [PDF]
Excessive acquiring is a common symptom of hoarding disorder (HD). Little is known about subjective distress associated with acquiring in HD. The present study examined acquiring- related distress and reactions to cognitive restructuring (CR) in 92 ...

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
