Dynamic froth stability in froth flotation
Minerals Engineering, 2003A new measure for froth stability is introduced in this work, based on a dynamic stability test for non-overflowing froth columns. The dynamic stability factor represents the lifetime of a bubble in the froth, and is defined as the ratio of the total volume of froth at equilibrium to the volumetric gas rate introduced into the system.

Flotation is a selective separation process by attaching hydrophobic particles to rising air bubbles to form a particle-rich froth on the suspension surface, which flows over the lip of the cell. Hydrophilic particles do not attach to the bubbles and settle to the bottom to be discharged.

International Journal of Mineral Processing, 2003
Abstract This paper gives a brief description of a fundamentally based model for the behaviour of a flotation froth. It includes descriptions for all three phases present in a flotation froth. The model for the gas motion uses either the simpler Laplace equation for describing the gas motion, or a more complex model for froths in very complex ...

The rheology of flotation froths
International Journal of Mineral Processing, 2003A literature review has highlighted the need to measure flotation froth rheology in order to fully characterise the role of the froth in the flotation process. The initial investigation using a coaxial cylinder viscometer for froth rheology measurement led to the development of a new device employing a vane measuring head.
