Inviscid, zero Froude number limit of the viscous shallow water system
In this paper, we study the inviscid and zero Froude number limits of the viscous shallow water system. We prove that the limit system is represented by the incompressible Euler equations on the whole space.

In terms of stability, the response of static cars in floodwaters has been widely investigated. However, the hydrodynamics of a non-static vehicle exposed to such events are less explored.

Energy Dissipation Through Pool Downstream Vertical Gates [PDF]
The hydraulic jump downstream gates leads to increase the length of stilling basin for protection hydraulic structures from failures. In this paper a new technique to increase energy dissipation between upstream and downstream through vertical gate with ...

The flow field downstream of a hydraulic jump [PDF]
A control-volume analysis of a hydraulic jump is used to obtain the mean vorticity downstream of the jump as a function of the Froude number. To do this it is necessary to include the conservation of angular momentum.

A Novel Efficient Method of Estimating Suspended‐To‐Total Sediment Load Fraction in Natural Rivers
Sediment transport load monitoring is important in civil and environmental engineering fields. Monitoring the total load is difficult, especially because of the cost of the bed load transport measurement.

The merger of two-dimensional radially stratified high-Froude-number vortices [PDF]
We investigate the influence of density inhomogeneities on the merger of two corotating two-dimensional vortices at infinite Froude number. In this situation, buoyancy effects are negligible, yet density variations still affect the flow by pure inertial ...
