After neoadjuvant therapy, axillary sentinel lymph node frozen sections from breast cancer patients are accurately diagnosed using telepathology

open access: yesJournal of Pathology Informatics, 2022
Context: Telepathology is a digital, microscope-independent method of diagnosing pathology from scanned slides. Frozen sections (FS) can be performed and read by a pathologist at any site. At our institution, telepathology is used for diagnosis of frozen

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Frozen section analysis and sentinel lymph node biopsy in well differentiated thyroid cancer

open access: yesJournal of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 2013
Background The aim of this study is to prospectively review the role of sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy in the management of well differentiated thyroid carcinoma (WDTC), and to determine the efficacy of intraoperative frozen section analysis at ...

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Diagnostic Value of Frozen Section in Endometrial Curetting Compared to Permanent Pathology

open access: yesمجله دانشکده پزشکی اصفهان, 2011
Background: Frozen section is widely used in gynecological oncology. However, the accuracy of frozen section procedure in intraoperative diagnosis of endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial adenocarcinoma in endometrial curettings has not been studied ...
