Background Frozen shoulder is characterized by inflammation of the synovial lining and capsule, with subsequent generalized contracture of the glenohumeral joint causing shoulder pain and a gradual loss of both passive and active range of motion.

United Kingdom Frozen Shoulder Trial (UK FROST), multi-centre, randomised, 12 month, parallel group, superiority study to compare the clinical and cost-effectiveness of Early Structured Physiotherapy versus manipulation under anaesthesia versus arthroscopic capsular release for patients referred to secondary care with a primary frozen shoulder : study protocol for a randomised controlled trial [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Frozen shoulder (also known as adhesive capsulitis) occurs when the capsule, or the soft tissue envelope around the ball and socket shoulder joint, becomes scarred and contracted, making the shoulder tight, painful and stiff.

Light Switchable Ionic Conductivity of Arylazopyrazole Modified Polysiloxanes
We present a polysiloxane functionalized with a novel arylazopyrazole dye that undergoes reversible photoisomerization. Upon lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide addition and UV irradiation, the polymer exhibits a shift in tan(d) toward higher frequencies and enhanced ionic conductivity.

Three new atomic/molecular layer deposition processes are developed for Co‐organic thin films using a promising all‐nitrogen‐coordinated cobalt precursor. The study examines film growth, reaction mechanisms, chemical stability, and decomposition pathways of the resulting films through extensive characterization techniques and DFT calculations ...

The Impact of Eight Weeks of Corrective Exercises on Postural Parameters, Range of Motion, and Shoulder Joint Pain in Women with Frozen Shoulder and Upper Cross Syndrome [PDF]
Background: Incorrect posture contributes to a frozen shoulder; this study explored the effects of eight weeks of corrective exercises on postural parameters, range of motion, and shoulder joint pain in women with frozen shoulder and upper cross syndrome.

Reduced telomere length is associated with fibrotic joint disease suggesting that impaired telomere repair contributes to joint fibrosis [PDF]
OBJECTIVE: Joint fibrosis affects many synovial joints (including hip, knee and shoulder) causing stiffness and pain. The mechanism of joint fibrosis remains unknown, although genetic factors may contribute.
