Factors affecting UK household financial risk-taking and their implications for consumption of financial investments

open access: yesInternational Review of Economics & Finance
Household financial risk-taking (FRT) diminishes during economic downturns or periods characterized by high cost of living to preserve household wealth, economic safety and wellbeing, leading to significant reductions in consumption.

Female reproductive tract pain: targets, challenges, and outcomes

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2014
Pain from the female reproductive tract (FRT) is a significant clinical problem for which there are few effective therapies. The complex neuroantomy of pelvic organs not only makes diagnosis of pelvic pain disorders difficult but represents a challenge ...

Chain‐Length Regulation by WzzE Is Necessary for, but Genetically Separable From, Cyclic Enterobacterial Common Antigen Synthesis

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that polysaccharide chain length regulation plays a distinct role in enabling formation of a cyclic molecule important for the bacterial cell surface. However, this function is necessary, but not sufficient for the cyclic molecule's biosynthesis.

Effects of foam rolling and static stretching training in youth soccer players with hip joint range of motion restriction [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Men's Health
Hip range of motion (ROM) restriction is commonly observed in youth soccer players. This study aimed to investigate the effects of foam rolling training (FRT) and static stretching training (SST) on youth soccer players who have restricted hip ROM ...

Writing Big in Plant Genomes: Advances, Challenges and Strategies for Targeted Large‐Fragment DNA Insertion

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Precise genome editing has transformed plant biology and crop improvement by enabling targeted modification of endogenous loci. Beyond gene knockout and base editing, the site‐specific insertion of exogenous DNA, particularly large DNA fragments, has become a central goal for engineering complex traits, reconstructing metabolic pathways and ...

FLP/FRT and Cre/lox recombination technology in C. elegans

open access: yesMethods, 2014
One of the most powerful aspects of biological inquiry using model organisms is the ability to control gene expression. A holy grail is both temporal and spatial control of the expression of specific gene products – that is, the ability to express or ...

Anatomical and functional mapping of vagal nociceptive sensory nerve subsets innervating the mouse lower airways by intersectional genetics

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend We used an intersectional approach with recombinase‐expressing mice and adeno‐associated virus to map and modulate distinct nociceptive afferents in the vagal ganglia. TRPV1+P2X2+ neurons resided in the nodose ganglion (N), innervated the lungs (many projected into the alveoli) but not the trachea, and projected to the nucleus ...
